US Navy official says Taiwan arms sales on 'pause' over Iran war 

The acting US Navy secretary said Thursday that arms sales to Taiwan had been put on "pause" to ensure that the American military had sufficient munitions for its Iran operations. US approves $700M air defence sale to Taiwan, second arms package in a week

The United States has confirmed the sale to Taiwan of an advanced air defence missile system worth almost $700 million which has been battle-tested in Ukraine, in the second such weapons package for Taipei in a week. Taiwan says China deployed 2 aircraft carrier groups, dozens of ships

China deployed two aircraft carrier groups and dozens of ships in waters north and south of Taiwan last month, a Taiwanese security official said Monday. Up to 70 Chinese ships, including navy vessels, were monitored from the Yellow Sea to the South China Sea from May 1-27, a security official said on the condition of anonymity. Chinese military launches large-scale drills around Taiwan

The Chinese military announced large-scale drills in the waters around Taiwan on Tuesday as it again warned the self-ruled island against seeking independence.
