Japan warns of avalanches as snow deaths rise to 35

Japan warned of possible avalanches in the country's northern regions on Wednesday as the mercury suddenly rose after two weeks of extreme snowfall that paralysed traffic and collapsed houses. Snowfall brings frosty weather back in GB region

Snowfall at various areas of Gilgit Baltistan amid the hot weather of May brought frosty weather again in the region. Tourists in Diamer and Chilas region enjoyed an unexpected treat with turn of the weather as snowflakes from the sky dropped to the surface. Mercury dropped below to the freezing point at Babusar Top, Nanga Parbat and Battugah Top with the snowfall. Babusar Naran highway closed for the traffic owing to the snowfall. Murree Prepares for Snowfall Season with Enhanced Safety Measures Starting November 1

Met Office forecast rain, snowfall from Feb 17 night

Met Office on Saturday informed that a strong westerly wave is likely to approach western parts of country on Feb 17th night. The weather system may grip upper/central parts of the country on Feb 18th. Met office predicts rainfall in several parts of country

ISLAMABAD: After a long dry spell, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain with snowfall over the hills in upper parts of the country that would subside foggy conditions and benefit the standing crops. In a statement, the PMD informed that a westerly wave has entered northwestern parts of Balochistan and is likely to grip upper and central parts of the country on December 28 (night) till December 29. 18 dead in KPK due to rains, snowfall

18 people died in weather-related accidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with 46 people injured from roof and wall collapse and land sliding between January 3 and 10, amid rain and snowfall in the region, according to Baaghi TV. According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, more than 109 houses were damaged in various districts throughout the province (PDMA). Affected people in Charsadda, Karak, Khyber, Mohmand, Nowshera, and Upper Dir were given relief items, and relief while rehabilitation efforts were carried out in the affected districts. Read More…

Murree Incident: 21 dead bodies recovered

The Pakistan Army and other civil-armed forces have been dispatched to Murree to assist with rescue operations after 21 tourists died in their vehicles due to severe snowfall in the hill station. After thousands of vehicles entered the city, all routes in Murree were closed, leaving tourists defenceless on the roadways.
