Shahid Khaqan challenges 26th Constitutional Amendment in SHC

Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Monday challenged the 26th Constitutional Amendment in the Sindh High Court. In a petition Shahid Khaqan has pleaded to the high court to declare the constitutional amendment as ‘unconstitutional’. He also pleaded to the court to restrain the judicial commission from functioning until the petition being decided. PTI challenges SC Practice and Procedure Ordinance in SHC

The PTI has filed petition in Sindh High Court against amending the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Act with presidential ordinance. Services of social media platform X restored in Pakistan

Social media platform X, formerly Twitter, has been restored for users across country, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) told the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday. PTA’s lawyer Ahsan Imam informed the court that the authority has withdrawn its notification regarding the suspension of X services (formerly Twitter) in Pakistan. Ishaq Dar’s appointment as deputy PM challenged

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar’s appointment to the post has been challenged in the Sindh High Court (SHC) as the hearing has been fixed for Friday. According to the details, the SHC two-member bench headed by the Chief Justice of the SHC Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi will hear the petition on Friday. The petition was filed by Tariq Mansoor who argued that Ishaq Dar’s appointment as Deputy Prime Minister was ‘unlawful’ and unconstitutional. The high court summoned reply from all parties on April 03 while hearing a petition with regard to likely privatization of the PIA. PTA opens up on X closure in Pakistan

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has filed a response in the Sindh High Court regarding the suspension of the social media application, X, citing security threats as the reason for shutting down mobile phone and internet services. The PTA’s legal representative informed the court that mobile phone and internet services were suspended based on security concerns raised by the Ministry of Interior and other security agencies. Professional tax levied by cantonment board declared ‘unconstitutional’

The Supreme Court on Friday declared professional tax levied by Cantonment Board Karachi unconstitutional, upholding the Sindh High Court’s (SHC) decision. A three-member bench led by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa disposed off the Cantonment Board’s plea challenging the Sindh High Court’s (SHC) order.
