DNA Testing Advances in Hina Javed Murder Case

LAHORE: DNA tests of key suspects in the Hina Javed murder case have been completed at the Punjab Forensic Science Agency. Samples from her husband, father-in-law and domestic worker Zeeshan were collected in the presence of her brother, Fahad Javed. During the investigation, Zeeshan allegedly confessed and claimed Hina’s husband offered Rs100,000 for the killing. Both husband Faisal Asghar and his father denied the allegations. Rawalpindi woman found dead in apartment

RAWALPINDI: Police have registered a murder case after a 45-year-old woman was found dead with her hands tied behind her back at an apartment. The FIR was lodged on Aug 20 at Civil Lines police station under Sections 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code on her brother Fahad’s complaint. Bangladesh court opens murder case against ex-premier Sheikh Hasina

A court in Bangladesh opened on Tuesday a murder investigation into ousted ex-premier Sheikh Hasina and six top figures in her administration over the police killing of a man during civil unrest last month. Hasina, 76, fled by helicopter a week ago to neighbouring India as protesters flooded Dhaka’s streets in a dramatic end to her iron-fisted tenure. “A case has been filed against Sheikh Hasina and six more,” said Mamun Mia, a lawyer who brought the case on behalf of a private citizen. CM Maryam forms investigation committee in Sania Zehra murder case

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz on Monday formed a committee to investigate the alleged murder of Sania Zehra, a 20-year-old pregnant woman who was found dead inside her home in Multan on May 9. Police arrest ‘culprits’ in cleric Masood Usmani murder case

Islamabad police on Monday claimed to have arrested two culprits allegedly involved in the murder of Sunni Ulema Council (SUC) leader Maulana Masood ur Rehman Usmani. The initial reports revealed that the arrested accused are allegedly affiliated with the banned organization. Meanwhile, the capital police spokesperson denied comment related to the arrests and stated that incomplete information or news could affect the investigation process. Shahnawaz Amir gets death sentence in Sara Inam murder case

A district and sessions court in Islamabad on Thursday handed down the death penalty to Shahnawaz Amir in Sara Inam murder case. Sarah, a Canadian national, was allegedly murdered by her husband Shahnawaz, in Islamabad a year ago. Shahnawaz is son of renowned journalist Ayaz Amir. Sessions Judge Nasir Javaid Rana announced the verdict which was reserved last week on December 9. The court also imposed a penalty of Rs.1million in Sarah Inam’s murder case. Read More…

ATC grants bail to Fatima murder case co-accused

An Anti-Terrorism Court on Tuesday granted bail to a co-accused in murder case of minor maid Fatima Phuriro. ATC approved bail petition of Aijaz Qazi, a driver of Pir Asad Shah, for security deposit of 50 thousand rupees. The driver was arrested for alleged facilitation in the crime. Fatima murder case: SHO threatens victim’s family

SHO Khanwahin issuing threats of abduction and killing, Ranipur murder victim’s family has complained. Ten-year-old child maid Fatima had died in the Haveli of Asad Shah in Ranipur and the video of her death went viral on social media. “SHO Khanwahin Ghani Dayo issuing threats to abduct or kill me,” Fatima’s mother has complained. “He is using filthy language against my late daughter,” she said.
