LHC Seeks Arguments on Aleema Khan Detention Plea

LHC Suspends PMDC Directive on Afghan Students

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday suspended the operation of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) directives requiring Afghan medical students to return to Afghanistan. Justice Khalid Ishaq issued the order while hearing petitions filed by 13 Afghan students studying at medical institutions in Lahore. Punjab markets ordered to close by 8 PM

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday mandated that all markets close by 8:00 PM each day and remain shut on Sundays as part of efforts to address the intense smog affecting the city. While issuing the order, Justice Shahid Karim noted that despite numerous hearings and calls for action, there has been a lack of effective measures to combat smog. LHC clears Pervaiz Elahi, family from no-fly list

Former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi’s name was removed from the Passport Control List (PCL) on orders of the Lahore High Court (LHC). Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza of LHC heard the contempt petitions of Parvez Elahi and others. The court ordered the removal of Parvez Elahi’s name from the PCL and others from the Exit Control List (ECL). The names of Rasikh Elahi and Zara Elahi have also been removed from the ECL. Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday restored appointment of Lieutenant General Munir Afsar as NADRA chairman. Attorney General on behalf of the federal government had challenged the verdict of a single member bench of Lahore High Court (LHC) that nullified the Lieutenant General Munir Afsar’s appointment as NADRA chairman.
