Iran seeks control over inbound Hormuz route, says senior Iranian source

Iran wants control over inbound shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and visibility over outbound traffic, with the ability to intervene, if necessary, under a plan being discussed with Oman to reopen the strategic waterway, a senior Iranian source told Reuters on Tuesday. The source, who is involved in the talks, said this is "the general idea currently being discussed", and specified that the outbound lane would follow a route between Iran and Oman, with exit clearance granted through Oman after notifying Iran. Omicron variant: Pakistan imposes strict travel restrictions

In order to prevent the new COVID-19 variant from entering Pakistan, the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) set further restrictions on inbound travellers on Monday. Due to the new COVID-19 variation, the authority has added eight more nations to the list of countries whose citizens are not permitted to go to Pakistan. Croatia, Hungary, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Ireland, Slovenia, Vietnam, Poland, South Africa, Mozambique, Lesotho, Eswatini, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Namibia have been added to the updated Category C list. CAA extends restrictions on inbound flights

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in its fresh notification extended the restrictions imposed on inbound flights till September 30, as it continues the ban placed on countries in Category C. Effective Anti-COVID19 SOPs in Place for Inbound International Flights

ISLAMABAD, Oct 21 (APP): The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has introduced effective anti coronavirus (COVID-19) Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all international passengers arriving in Pakistan from different countries. The new SOPs would remain in place for inbound international flights till December 31, 2020, under which all passengers are required to register themselves by installing the Pass Track App, according to an official document.
