Indonesia rescuers search for survivors as quake death toll rises to 47

Rescuers combed through debris for survivors on Saturday after a powerful earthquake struck off Indonesia´s eastern Flores island, killing at least 47 people, according to disaster officials. The national disaster management agency (BNPB) raised the death toll from 40 late Saturday, and rescue official Fathur Rahman said 50 people were injured in the 7.7-magnitude quake. Major quake in southern Japan knocks out power, disrupts transport

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.1 struck Japan's southern Kumamoto prefecture on Tuesday, knocking out power to thousands of homes, snarling travel and triggering evacuation orders and warnings for aftershocks. Major 7.5-magnitude quake hits off Japan, tsunami warning issued

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.5 struck off the northeastern coast of Japan on Monday, as authorities urged residents to stay away from coastal areas where tsunami waves of up to 3 metres (9.84 ft) were expected. The tremor had an epicentre in the Pacific Ocean and was 10km deep, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency. 5.6-magnitude earthquake jolts parts of Sindh, Balochistan

Several districts of Sindh and Balochistan witnessed earthquake tremors on Thursday, the Seismic Monitoring Centre of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said. Tremors were felt in Sukkur, Jacobabad, Khuzdar, Jhal Magsi, Dadu, Naseerabad, and surrounding areas. 3.3-magnitude earthquake hits Balochistan's Panjgur

An earthquake of 3.3-magnitude hit parts of Balochistan's Panjgur early on Wednesday with an epicentre about 85 kilometres north of the district. The earthquake measured 3.3 in magnitude and was recorded at a depth of 12 kilometres, said the National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC) of the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
