Search Continues for Missing Paraglider in Chitral

CHITRAL: Rescue teams resumed a search on Friday for 55-year-old paraglider Asif Mehmood, who went missing after bad weather hit during a flight from Zaini Pass. Five members of his group landed safely, but Mehmood continued towards Chitral city before losing radio contact. Earthquake shocks Islamabad, adjoining areas

A moderate-level earthquake was reported from Islamabad including Rawalpindi, Peshawar, and its adjoining areas on Thursday. Residents of Kohat, Lower Dir, Chitral, and Girdo districts experienced tremors from an earthquake. Similar seismic activity was reported in Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Swat, and Girdo districts as well. The magnitude of the quake was recorded at 5.3 on the Richter Scale, meanwhile, the epicenter of the earthquake was the Afghan-Tajikistan border areas, and its depth was 86 kilometers. Read More…

Two terrorists killed, four injured in Chitral IBO

Two terrorists were killed and four others injured during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber-Pakhtunkwa’s Chitral district. Electricity supply to Upper Chitral from Feb 1st: Khurram Dastgir

Federal Minister for Energy and Power Khurram Dastgir on Sunday said, on the directives and special interest of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the electricity supply to Upper Chitral would be started from February 1st. Addressing a press conference here at the Governor House, the energy minister said that on the directives of Prime Minister, he especially came to Peshawar to meet a delegation of Upper Chitral and to hear their problems. Afghan troopers take refuge in Pakistan

ISPR reported that the Pakistan army allowed 46 afghan army troopers to Pakistan. Afghan National Army (ANA) local Commander opposite Arundu Sector in Chitral requested Pak-army to give refuge for 46 military men and five police officers after they had lost hold on military posts along the Pak Afghan international border.
