New school timings have been enforced in Lahore as a precaution against worsening air pollution due to smog. On Sunday, the air quality index (AQI) in Lahore soared to dangerous levels of 700, according to a global monitoring site. The developments follows after the directions of Punjab’s Environment Protection Department. According to an official notification, schools will now open at 8:45 AM for students, effective from October 28 (today) until January 31, 2025.
