Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister, announced one billion riyals in aid to Afghanistan on Sunday. The Saudi minister praised Pakistan for calling the meeting and making the finest arrangements in the shortest time possible, speaking at the 17th Extraordinary Session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers in Islamabad.

Faisal emphasised the importance of approaching the Afghan situation from a humanitarian standpoint, emphasising that the people of the war-torn country, particularly women and children, were suffering.
