Several UN officials speaking to The National said looters were desperate and hungry Gazans trying to secure food for their families after months of starvation. A famine is rapidly unfolding in Gaza, a global hunger monitor said on Tuesday. The Palestinian death toll from Israel’s war on the territory has crossed 60,000.
