Satellite photos have revealed the severity of hunger in Gaza. Images show crowds storming aid convoys that entered the enclave last Saturday. The World Food Programme said that none of the lorries that had entered Gaza managed to arrive at its warehouses. Several UN officials speaking to The National said looters were desperate and hungry Gazans trying to secure food for their families after months of starvation. A famine is rapidly unfolding in Gaza, a global hunger monitor said on Tuesday. The Palestinian death toll from Israel’s war on the territory has crossed 60,000.
