There have been a number of reports of the use of S-300 missiles becoming more frequent in the warfare between Russia and Ukraine. Russia had also deployed the S-300 surface-to-air missile defense system to its ally Syria at the height of the civil war there. According to the Air and Space Forces Magazine, each missile fired is estimated to be up to $1 million.
