Amman: On Oct 20, it was reported by Human Rights Watch that dozens of Syrian refugees were maltreated at the hands of authorities or pro-government militias upon returning home. According to the report, between 2017 and 2021, there were 65 cases of arrest, arbitrary detention, torture, extrajudicial killing, and disappearances of returnees from Lebanon and Jordan.
