Qatar expressed regret over the UN Security Council’s failure to adopt a draft resolution recognizing Palestine as a full UN member. The announcement showed the council was unable to carry out its responsibilities and role within the framework of maintaining international peace and security, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement. It affirmed Qatar’s support for the rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to establish an independent state.
