Qatar called for “urgent international action” to prevent an Israeli invasion of Rafah and the “commitment of the crime of genocide” after the army seized the Rafah border crossing and ordered thousands to leave the city. Qatar’s Foreign Ministry said it strongly condemned strikes on Rafah, attacks on residential areas and the seizure of the border crossing. “Forcing civilians to move from the city, which has become a final refuge for hundreds of thousands of displaced people inside the Gaza Strip, represents a serious violation of international laws, and would double the worsening humanitarian crisis,” it said.
