Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said that Israel’s bombardment of Gaza went beyond military operations and was an attempt to force Palestinians there to flee to Egypt. He said Israel wanted Gazans to move to Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula and could pursue a similar strategy in the occupied West Bank to force Palestinians there to seek refuge in neighboring Jordan. “In that case, the idea of establishing a Palestinian state will be inapplicable. The land will be there but without people,” said Mr El Sisi.
