Malik Ashfaq Khan, the PPP district president and, a former National Assembly candidate, was killed in Bannu. Malik Ashfaq Khan was fatally shot outside the district court. The event was strongly criticized by PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and other leaders. The accused has been charged and an investigation has begun, according to the police.
In a police complaint, the victim’s child MPA Muhammad Akbar, son of Muhammad Ashfaq and resident of Mohalla Bank Bannu City, stated that he was there with his father outside the district court in front of the University Plaza. Saknay Mamand Khel opened fire, instantly murdering his father, Malik Ashfaq Khan. Hostility is believed to be the cause of enmity. The police have opened an inquiry and lodged a case.
