Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday ordered the suspension of eight officials and criminal proceedings against them following an interim inquiry report into the PIMS fire that killed 14 infants. Chairing a meeting in Lahore, the premier directed authorities to act on the findings. Earlier, Health Minister Mustafa Kamal and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry visited the affected ward, met grieving families and conveyed condolences on behalf of the prime minister.
