Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad stated on Thursday that Prime Minister Imran Khan had a political context in mind while appointing the new Director-General of the ISI, while the Pakistan Army had its own approach.
“He [PM Imran] was viewing things in a political context, while the army has their own approach,” he told the media during a meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Parliamentary Committee here.
According to the interior minister, “everything has been mutually decided and finalized,” and the administration and military “have a very good understanding.” He said that the prime minister had made no mention of interviewing applicants for the position.
