The government cut the price of petrol and diesel by Rs5 per litre on Wednesday. It has also reduced the price of kerosene and light diesel oil by Rs7 per litre for the second half of December 2021. While the petroleum levy has stayed unchanged, the sales tax on both petrol and diesel has been hiked by 4.77 percent per litre and 9.08 percent per litre, respectively.
