Columbia University student Mohsen Mahdawi was released on bail from US immigration custody, after a judge ruled that he should be allowed to challenge the US administration’s efforts to deport him for taking part in pro-Palestinian protests. Mr Mahdawi, born and raised in a refugee camp in the West Bank, was arrested this month after arriving for an interview for his US citizenship petition.
