Pakistan reported 1,086 new cases of COVID-19 in the previous 24 hours on Friday, reducing the overall number of active cases below 40,000 for the first time since the pandemic’s fourth wave began in July.

On July 13, the nation recorded 39,644 instances, which were less than 40,000.

According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), Pakistan’s overall number of cases has risen to 1,262,771 with the latest updates, with 28 fatalities in the previous 24 hours bringing the country’s death toll to 28,228.
