As many as 85 Palestinian athletes, including 55 football players, have been killed since Israel’s war on Gaza began on October 7 up to December 6. The Palestinian Football Association issued a report that said Israeli forces had struck Palestinian sports centres in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, killing or wounding football players, club presidents, administrators, referees and others, news agency Wafa reported. The bombing campaign also destroyed nine sports centres – four in the West Bank and five in the Gaza Strip.
