On Thursday, a Pakistan Army soldier was killed while serving in the UN mission in the Central African Republic (CAR), according to the military’s media wing.

Havaldar Muhammad Shafiq’s burial prayer was held in his hometown of Mian Channu in Khanewal, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). His wife and three boys survive him.

According to the statement, “[the martyred] soldier was buried with full military honours,” adding that he had joined the UN mission in February.
