A senior lawyer for Israel told the International Court of Justice that the war in Gaza was tragic, but denied the country was guilty of genocide. “There is a tragic war going on but there is no genocide,” Gilad Noam told the UN’s top court. “This war, like all wars, is tragic and terrible for Israelis and Palestinians and it has exacted a terrible human price. But it is not genocide,” he added.
