Qatari and Egyptian mediators have not received formal responses from Hamas or Israel to a UN-backed ceasefire proposal, an official has said. “Talks are ongoing between mediators and Israel and Hamas in coordination with the United States,” the official told Reuters on Tuesday. On Monday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken called on regional states to push Hamas to accept the US-proposed deal.
