It emerged that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was not in a hurry to make the topmost military appointments as he said that the decision would be taken at an appropriate time. Talking to reporters, the premier said: “No decision has been taken so far as to who would be the new Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) and the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS).” It also appeared that the military authorities had not yet moved the summary containing a panel of three-star generals for the topmost army appointments.
