The US Treasury Department placed a new round of Iran-related sanctions on people and companies in India and Turkey. One target was what the Treasury called a "vast criminal network" involving Indian businessman Suniel Kumar Sharma and his wife, Jaspreet Preeti Shahid. It alleged they had provided false flags and certifications to vessels under sanctions involved in shipping Iranian oil.
