Trump’s Latest Name Proposal Draws Swift Rejection

US President Donald Trump has sparked fresh controversy by suggesting New Mexico be renamed “New America”, a proposal quickly rejected by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham. Trump recently backed other renaming ideas, including “Lake America” and “Trump Strait”. The latest suggestion was reportedly linked to an online hoax, while the governor accused Trump of distracting Americans from pressing concerns, including rising fuel prices, as his administration faces mounting criticism.
