Iran Signals Readiness as Tensions With US Persist

Iran says its armed forces are now stronger and better prepared than when the war with the United States and Israel began in February. Army spokesman Mohammad Akraminia said Tehran retained control of the Strait of Hormuz and would keep it closed until Washington met its demands. Meanwhile, the US has announced a $20 million reward for information about Iran’s nuclear programme, as regional mediators continue efforts to prevent renewed fighting.
