Indian Youth Protest Leaders Released After Detention

Three leaders of India’s Cockroach Janta Party, including founder Abhijeet Dipke, were released by a magistrate’s court after being detained ahead of a planned protest in New Delhi. The demonstration sought the election commissioner’s resignation over voter-roll revisions. Authorities said the exercise removed duplicate and fraudulent entries, while critics alleged it disproportionately affected minorities. The Election Commission denied wrongdoing.
