Israel and the US have criticized the release of a video showing Hamas hostage Edan Alexander. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the video was cruel psychological warfare and that he had told Mr Alexander’s family in a phone call that Israel was working tirelessly to bring the hostages home. In the US, White House National Security Council spokesman Sean Savett called the video “a cruel reminder of Hamas’s terror”.
