Most Israelis want an independent probe into October 7 attack

Polls conducted in October 2025 show three-out-of-four Israelis want to see an independent, state-led investigation into the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attack. This is because there’s a lot of anxiety among Israelis that a similar scenario could take place again, either originating from Gaza or other areas. While certain security agencies have conducted different probes, people still want to see accountability – something Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly blocked.
