Gaza war mediators were reassembling in Egypt on Tuesday, a day after Hamas said it had accepted proposals to end the war in Gaza, sources reported. Israel has yet to announce its official response to the proposals ironed out by US, Egyptian and Qatari mediators over the past week. However, its surprise takeover of the Gaza side of the Rafah border crossing with Egypt suggests it intends to press on with the war in the Palestinian territory.
