Muhyiddin Yassin stepped down as prime minister of Malaysia just after 17 months in power. In a television address, he announced that he has decided to resign because he had lost his majority in parliament and added that a new government would be formed soon. He said, “The Cabinet has tendered our resignation to the Agong (king). Thank you for the opportunity to, once again, serve the nation. May God bless Malaysia.”
