The French President Emmanuel Macron appears to be hardening his stance on Israel. During a phone call, Mr Macron told the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that any forced transfer of people out of the city of Rafah would be a war crime. He also condemned Israel’s plan to seize Palestinian land in the occupied West Bank, according to a readout of the conversation from Mr Macron’s office.
