Istanbul: On Dec 9, the Turkish Defence Ministry stated that three Turkish soldiers were slain in an attack by Kurdish militants during cross-border operations in northern Iraq. Six of the insurgents were “neutralised”, he also added. Turkey’s operations in Iraq target the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militant group, which is specified as a terrorist group by Turkey, European Union, and the United States.
