The federal government has declared 26 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa districts “terror-affected”, making PAS and PSP officers posted there eligible for a special security allowance from July 1, 2026. The allowance will equal 250 per cent of running basic pay and be paid retrospectively. Swabi and Hazara districts are excluded. The decision reflects heightened security risks faced by officers serving in seriously disturbed areas.
