Israel has only managed to kill up to 30 percent of Hamas fighters since the war in Gaza began, according to US intelligence estimates cited by the Wall Street Journal on Sunday. Intelligence agencies believe the group has enough weapons and fighters to continue battling Israel for months, it added, contradicting Israeli claims it is successfully “eradicating” the group in Gaza. According to the report, the US estimates that between 10,500 and 11,700 Hamas fighters have been wounded, much lower than Israel’s estimates of 16,000 wounded Hamas fighters – half of which are thought to be unable to fight.
