Israeli political leader and former General Benny Gantz hailed the US-brokered Israel-Lebanon ceasefire but suggested that the Israeli army should not leave the Lebanese territory, Al Jazeera reported. He said that it “could constitute a significant diplomatic breakthrough in the war against Hezbollah”. “But this agreement will be tested in the reality on the ground,” Gantz said on X.
