Israel’s central bank is not rushing to intervene in the foreign exchange market to curb a strong shekel, Deputy Governor Andrew Abir told Reuters. Abir said the currency is helping contain inflation, but markets appear too optimistic about the geopolitical outlook. The dollar-shekel is around 2.90, its lowest since 1993.
