Israeli shelling has struck the headquarters of a Nepalese battalion serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in the southern Lebanese town of Mays al-Jabal, according to local reports. Lebanon’s National News Agency said shells landed inside the peacekeeping compound. No Nepalese soldiers were reported injured. The Honorary Consulate General of Nepal in Beirut condemned the attack, warning that targeting UN positions represents a serious breach of international law.
