An Israeli minister called for Syria’s President Ahmad Al Shara to be “eliminated” as violence grips the heartland of the country’s Druze community. “Anyone who thinks Ahmad Al Shara is a legitimate leader is gravely mistaken. This is a terrorist, a barbaric murderer who should be eliminated now,” Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Chikli wrote on X. “We saw the horrific massacre of the Alawites, which European leaders remained silent about, and we now see the acts of slaughter and humiliation against the Druze,” he added.
