Israeli forces detained Sheikh Mohammad Hussein, the grand mufti of Jerusalem and Palestine, after Friday prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque, Wafa reported. Local sources said Israeli troops took Hussein into custody shortly after he delivered the Friday sermon and led prayers at the mosque. No further details were immediately available about the reason for his detention or where Israeli forces had taken him.
