The Palestinian movement’s statement comes amid increasing Israeli settler violence and settlement expansion in the occupied West Bank, including a recent siege on multiple Palestinian homes near Nablus. “The arrogance of the occupation will not succeed in uprooting our people from their land,” a statement by the group said in response to the Israeli decision to re-establish the previously evacuated Ganim illegal settlement near Jenin. Hamas urged Palestinians to “strengthen their steadfastness and attachment to their land” and “increase the use of all means of resistance and confrontation” to deter Israeli troops and settlers.
