At least five Palestinians waiting for aid were killed by Israeli fire in the city of Rafah in southern Gaza on Sunday afternoon, official news agency Wafa reported. The Gaza Health Ministry said in a statement that at least 18 people seeking aid were killed in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 583 since a new mechanism to distribute aid through a US-backed group began on May 27.
