Tzipi Livni, Israel’s former foreign minister, has blasted the far-right government’s moves in Lebanon after it invaded and occupied the south in March as the war on Iran unfolded. Writing on X, Livni said the current mechanism in US-Iran negotiations to halt Israeli attacks on Lebanon represent a failure that could have been avoided. “This is terrible for Israel and it’s happening because the government has not leveraged military achievements for security,” she said.
