The Israeli army struck the city of Baalbek in north-eastern Lebanon for the first time since the start of the Gaza war. It is Israel’s deepest strike inside Lebanon since October 8, when a cross-border conflict broke out between the Iran-backed Hezbollah militant group and Israel following Hamas’s attack on Israel the previous day. Local media reported that three people were wounded and admitted to a hospital in the region.
