Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his country would not pass up any opportunity to free more hostages from Gaza. He described sustained military operations to secure “total victory” over Hamas were necessary for the recovery of all remaining captives. His statement was issued after Israeli special forces freed two hostages in Rafah, a city in southern Gaza packed with refugees, where the prospect of wider operations has concerned Egypt and the US.
